CIRCUS FM

Circus FM is a collaboration between singer Flora Munro, guitarist/songwriter Roger Niven, and session drummer Graham Walker.

Roger has been involved in a wide range of projects with diverse styles. These include jazz, blues, classical, latin, celtic rock (Wolfstone) and, most recently, progressive rock with cult band Cressida.  He has also played at Moray Jazz Club on a number of occasions, usually with Inverness based quartet Jazz Unlimited.

DUNCAN EAGLES

Duncan Eagles is a London based saxophonist who performs regularly at venues and festivals all over the world.

As well as running his own groups, Duncan is also very much in demand as a side man having performed in groups with Gary Husband, Janek Gwizdala, Ola Onabule and Mark Mondesir to name just a few.

ERIC FORD

Drummer Eric Ford recons that over half of his work is jazz-related although there's also some pop and rock, musical theatre, folky singer-songwriter stuff, 20th Century orchestral music, ballroom/sequence dance gigs, sessions, etc.

He has played twice at Moray Jazz Club with Partikel.

Moray Jazz Club member Ian Wilson plays tenor sax with the Highland Swing band.

Jazz Aberdeen is a not for profit charitable organisation whose aim is to promote jazz in Aberdeen through regular live jazz performances involving both visiting international artists and local musicians through the bi-annual Aberdeen International Jazz Festival.

LOS ACOUSTICOS BANDIDOS

Formed to cover a six month gig residency in a Tapas restaurant, Aberdeen based Colin Black and Scott Cruikshank quickly realised their shared love of jazz, Latin, funk and pop played on acoustic guitars was something they needed to add to their roster of bands, and it's gone from strength to strength playing all over Scotland.  They have played at Moray Jazz Club on three occassions.

MAX LUTHERT

Max's reputation as one of the most in-demand bass players on the UK jazz scene has meant he has performed alongside many notable musicians although his main project is the co-led trio Partikel.

His latest project is Orbital which features five of the UK's most exciting musicians performing Max's compositions.

He has played at Moray Jazz Club twice with Partikel.

MORAY SWING BAND

Moray Swing Band is a community based band based in Elgin, with members from all over Moray and Aberdeenshire.

DAVE MILLIGAN

Pianist Dave Milligan played at Moray Jazz Club in 2009 as part of A Funny Valentine.  In a professional career spanning more than fifteen years he has performed throughout Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and Asia.

O.G.D. TRIO

Why OGD you ask? Organ, Guitar, Drums, as per the classic Wes Montgomery tune "OGD, AKA Road Song, or the continuing adventures of Jimmy and Wes".  Alan King on Hammond organ, Colin Black on guitar and Bill Kemp on drums.  They played at Moray Jazz Club in January 2014 in support of their CD.

PARTIKEL

Partikel are three London based musicians all with very different musical backgrounds: Duncan Eagles - saxes, Max Luthert - double bass and Eric Ford - drums.

Their aim is to put an interesting twist on the standard jazz format but still honouring the tradition of deep harmony, creative improvisation and interaction.

They played at Moray Jazz Club in 2011 in support of their album Cohesion and again in 2013.

COLIN STEELE

Trumpeter Colin Steele played at Moray Jazz Club in 2009 as part of A Funny Valentine.  Since the release of his debut album in 2002 he has won just about every UK jazz plaudit there is.

ANDREA TURNER

Andrea studied music at Stevenson college, Edinburgh  and with members of Scottish Opera, she has also trained in vocal jazz with Fionna Duncan, Sophie Bancroft, Sheila Jordan and Mark Murphy amongst others .  She has performed throughout Scotland both as a solo performer and also within world music choirs.  She has sung at Moray Jazz Club several times.
